Edward Manning, Former Union Resident Died In Nebraska

Edward Manning, a former resident of Union township, passed away at his home in Hastings, Nebraska, on Saturday afternoon, December 7.

Mr. Manning was born October 10, 1874, at DeKalb, Illinois, and came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Manning, to Union township where he grew to young manhood. He had been a resident of Hasting for the past 18 years and for 10 years served as park superintendent. He was forced to retire from that position some time ago due to ill health.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Kate Manning, four brothers, Raymond, Harry, and LeRoy of Le Mars and John of Portland, Oregon, four nephews and five nieces.

Funeral services were held at the Livingston-Butler Chapel in Hastings at 10 o’clock Tuesday with interment in the Sutton cemetery. Members of the Eagles Lodge were pallbearers.
