Edward Carlson
Edward Carlson, 100, of rural Kingsley, one of Plymouth county's oldest residents, died Wednesday (Aug. 4, 1982), in a Sioux City nursing home.
Services will be at 10:30 a ,m. Friday in the United Methodist church at Kingsley. Rev. Dick Krambeck will officiate. Burial will be in Grant Meadow cemetery, rural Washta. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Michaelson Funeral home at Kingsley.
Mr. Carlson was born Aug. 9, 1881, in Sweden. He married Vendela Regina Bjorkman April 6, 1907, in South Manchester, Conn. He lived most of his life in the Pierson and Kingsley farm community, the last 44 years on the farm east of Kingsley. Mrs. Carlson died in 1971. He was a Methodist.
Survivors are three sons, Gunnard of Pierson, Russell of Kingsley and Elmer of West Hartford, Conn.; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Ethel) Stolberg of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. A. B. (Emma) Johnson of Cherokee; a half-sister, Hulda Carlsson and two half-brothers, Adolph and Oscar Carlsson, all in Sweden; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
