Mrs. George Mayhew
Mrs. George Mayhew, 88, 6120 Morningside Ave., Sioux City, died Friday at a Sioux City nursing home after a long illness. Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Anderson-Perasso funeral home. Rev. James E. Smith, pastor of the First Assembly of God church, officiated and burial was in Graceland park cemetery.
The former Faye G. Ruthroff, she was born Feb. 6,1882, at Smithland. She was married to Mr. Mayhew March 1, 1911 in Sioux City. She resided in the Sioux City area nearly all her life.
She was a member of the Assembly of God church. Mr. Mayhew died June 26, 1967, at Sioux City.
Survivors are two sons, Charles of Sioux City, and Edgar of Salina, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie LaBahn of Hinton, and Mrs. Ruth Friedel of Rodeo, Calif.; a brother, Floyd Ruthroff of Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs Florence Barkley of Hayward, Calif, and Mrs. Tillie Barkley of Bakersfield, Calif., six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
