Funeral Services For Mrs. Augusta Ruedy At Merrill Monday
Mrs. Augusta Ruedy, 84, resident of Plymouth county since 1880, died Thursday at her home in Merrill after an illness of five months.
Mrs. Ruedy was born September 23, 1862, at Nuremberg, Germany. Her maiden name was Augusta Karras. She came to Plymouth county in 1880 and settled near Remsen. Her marriage to John Ruedy took place at Le Mars on March 21, 1885.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Anna Albright, Mrs. Mary Albright and Miss Clara Ruedy, all of Merrill; Mrs. Lillie Sudmeyer and Mrs. Kate Penne, both of LeMars, and Mrs. Ida Briegel of California; two sons, George and Jacob Ruedy of Merrill; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Henry.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the family home in Merrill and at 2 p.m. in Johnson township Lutheran church, with Rev. Gustav Meyer officiating. The body was at the Mauer Funeral Home, Le Mars.
