Note: This is Mrs. Thomas Amos even if the death notice doesn't mention it. According to his obituary his wife went to live in Wessington Springs, S.D. after his death. Also according to Cenus records her first name is Phidella (may also be spelled Fidella or Phiddella) and her birth year was listed as 1832.

Word was received here of the death of Grandma Amos at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Amos, at Wessington Springs, S. D. She suffered from a stroke of paralysis early in the fall and never recovered. She lived here many years and was respected by all.
