Note: His mother's maiden name was Brown.

Frank Barr passed away at his home in the city Sunday morning, May 3, at about six o’clock, after a long illness of tuberculosis age 51 years, 1 month and 25 days.

Deceased was born at Rock Falls, Cerro Gordo county Iowa, March 8, 1863, his father, the late H. D. Barr at that time serving in the union army in Company B., 32nd Iowa Infantry. He came with his parents forty-five years, ago to southwestern Plymouth County where they located at the old Big Sioux mill. His father was employed in the mill for two years, when the family came to Akron. He has since made his home here.

In February, 1888, he was united in marriage with Drusilla Page, who is left to mourn his departure, along with three daughters and one son, Mrs. Wm. Nall, Mrs. John Carpenter, Mrs. Grover Jones, and Hayes Barr, all of this locality. He is also survived by his aged mother, Mrs. H. D. Barr, of this city, and two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. H. S. Maxson, of Akron; Major Barr, of Elk Point, S. D.; Ora Barr, of Forrestburg, S. D.; Grant Barr and Mrs. Bert Port, of Akron, to all of whom the community tenders its sympathy.

Mr. Barr followed the profession of painting and paper hanging here for many years and was an exceptionally proficient workman.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. L. Stuart in the M. E. church Tuesday afternoon. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
