George DeWolf Services Are at 2 o'clock Today.
Veteran of World War II Dies at Sioux Falls Hospital on Tuesday.
Funeral services for George DeWolf, 42, will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at 2 o'clock at the Anderson funeral home. The Rev. Martin Eadelman will officiate. Mr. DeWolf died October 5 at a Soux Falls hospital.
Pallbearers will be Art Van Bockern, Ray Williams, Harold Stengerl, John Sanderson, Floyd Haw and Walter Andrews. Burial is at Forest Hill cemetery.
Mr. DeWolf was born December 27, 1906, at Westfield, Iowa, to William and Evelyn Heeren DeWolf. About 30 years ago they came to Lincoln county. George DeWolf had lived here since with the exception of the years spent in the armed forces.
Mr. DeWolf was inducted into the armed forces July 9, 1942, at Ft. Crook, Neb. He served with the 2418th service unit and was stationed in Alaska. He was discharged from the armed forces on November 26, 1944.
He has been employed on the Milwaukee road since his return from the service.
Survivors are his borther, Cyrus DeWolf with whom he made his home, and a sister, Mrs. Rena Rahn, Yankton.
