FINAL RITES FOR MRS. ANNA SMITH
Wife of Well Known Traveling Man

Mrs. George Arnold Smith, 83, well known resident of LeMars for upwards of fifty years, died at a nursing home in Sioux City, Friday, January 15, after a lingering illness. Failing in health last June she went to Sioux City and made her home with a friend, Mrs. Marjorie Healy, and a short time ago went to the nursing home.

Mrs. Smith, whose maiden name was Anna Kruger, was born October 8, 1859, at Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was the wife of George Arnold Smith, a well known traveling man, who established a home in LeMars while representing a well known furrier firm of St. Paul. He died in 1931 and their only child preceded them in death.

Mrs. Smith had a number of friends who esteemed her admirable qualities and friendly attitude.

Her only known close surviving relative is a niece, Mrs. Catherine Kurth, of Seattle, Wash.

The Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Mauer Funeral Home with services conducted by a Christian Science leader.

The pallbearers were R. R. Bedell, J. W. Jones, R. E. Jones, Fred Luss, Stanley Post, F. H. Wells.
