RONALD BRODIE, 71, DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Ronald Brodie, 71, Alhambra, Calif., died following a heart attack at his home last Thursday.

Mr. Brodie was born Dec. 30, 1892, in Plymouth county. He was married to Leanna Herron. daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Herron of Le Mars. Mr. Brodie operated a haberdashery shop at the location later run by Billy Arndt and now occupied by Le Mars Stationery. The couple left Le Mars 33 years ago to make their home in California. Mr. Brodie had been employed part time in a bank, but was retired.

Funeral services and burial were held Monday in Alhambra.

Survivors are the widow and a daughter, Marjorie Matthews; two grandsons; three brothers. Charles and William of Le Mars, and Robert of Akron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
