Long Time Resident Of Kingsley Died Recently In California

Kingsley News-Times: Graveside services was held last Friday at 6:30 for Mrs. Hannah Payne, a former Kingsley resident who died April 10, at the home of her daughter Mrs. C. James, at South Gate, Calif., with whom she had been living for the past three years.

Hannah Mansfield Payne was born in Kenmare, County Terry, Ireland, July 6, 1858. She had five sisters and two brothers.

In 1876 she came to the United States with Capt. Moreton and wife, who already had their home in Le Mars, and lived with them for sometime. During her life, she happily made several return trips to Ireland.

She was married to Randolph Payne at St. George Episcopal church in Le Mars, August 10, 1886. Mr. Payne preceded her in death in 1940. To this union three children were born, Wyndham Randolph, of Benton Harbor, Mich., Harold William deceased in 1937, and Phillis Marbury, Mrs. C. Y James, of South Gate, Calif.. Of the eight grandchildren, five are living, and there are eight great-grandchildren.
