Mrs. Helen Yeaton Dies At Home Of Daughter In Kansas City, Mo.
Mrs. Helen Yeaton passed away Thursday June 9, 1960, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Kimbrell, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 6 days. She had been ill and in failing health for the past few months.
Mrs. Yeaton was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Broadbent, born September 3, 1878, in Sioux City, Iowa. She spent her young womanhood in Sioux City and Chicago. In 1903, Mr. and Mrs. Broadbent and Helen moved to Akron. Here she met her future husband, Ansel L. Yeaton. They were married April 1, 1905. To this union were born three children, Mrs. John Kimbrell (Theodora), of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. John Borden (Frances), of Spring Lake, Michigan, and Edmund L. Yeaton, of Los Angeles, Calif.; also, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one niece, Mrs. Theodora Stecker, of Akron, Iowa.
Mr. and Mrs. Yeaton lived in Akron during their married life, until the death of Mr. Yeaton in 1927. Since that time she has lived in the homes of her children. Mr. Yeaton practiced law and served as mayor of Akron.
The body was brought here to the Rossow Funeral Home, where services were held Monday forenoon, Rev. Paul Williams, pastor of the First 'Baptist church officiating. Pallbearers were D. G. Ross, J. H. Earnest, R. D. Clark, Orlan C. Moore, J A. Jenson and Mac Thorson. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral services were: Mrs. John Kimbrell, of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. John Borden, of Spring Lake, Michigan, Edward L. Yeaton, of Glendale, Calif., Mrs. Martin Conway and sons, James and Dennis, of Council Bluffs, la., and Mrs. Kindred Hansen, of Sioux City, la.
