Charles L. Fletcher
Charles L. Fletcher, 57, of Akron, died February 20, 2000, at his residence in Akron, IA.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 23, 2000 at the First Baptist Church in Akron, IA with the Rev. Larry Madsen officiating. Congregational Hymns will be played by organist Shirley Gerling. Burial will take place at a later date.
Honorary Pallbearers are, Denny Port, Jim Warren, John Sand. Arrangements are under the direction of Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron, IA.
Charles, the son of Floyd and Thelma (Ballinger) Fletcher was born August 17, 1942 at Mitchell, SD. Charles was a graduate of Akron High School and attended South Dakota State University. He later attended a chef school in Florida. He lived in Michigan, Texas and Iowa. Charles was employed as a truck driver and later as a cook, most recently in the Jefferson, SD area. His favorite pastimes were cooking and playing pool.
Survivors include four children; Pat and his wife Louisa of Houston, TX, Lisa and her husband Larry Burham of Correctionville, I A, Daii and His wife Dawn of Emlenton, PA, Lorrie and her husband Brady Bakker of Moville, IA, his mother Thelma Fletcher of Akron, IA and a sister, Sue Croy of Hot Springs, SD, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Fletcher.
