PERRY TOWNSHIP FARMER FOR YEARS
George Maxey Dies At Pasadena On Visit

Word was received here Friday of the death of George Maxey, 82, well known resident of Plymouth county for many years, who left here December 5 to spend the winter in California with relatives. His death took place at the home of his son Hugh Maxey, at Pasadena following an attack of pneumonia.

Mr. Maxey farmed in Perry township many years and later lived in the home of Aggie Dybdahl in Sioux City.

He is survived by two sons, Hug, of Pasadena, Calif., Guy Maxey, of LeMars, three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Buchanan, living in Oregon, Mrs. Thos. Vondrak and Mrs. John Kovarna, of Perry township, this county. There are seventeen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, Carl Maxey, of Pasadena, Calif., and Otto at Bronson, Iowa. His wife preceded him in death seven years ago.

Mr. Maxey was born at Mount Vernon, Ill., and when a young man went to Minnesota where he lived five years, coming to Iowa he lived in Merrill and Perry township.

The remains were taken to Sioux City for interment.
