WIFE OF RETIRED FARMER EXPIRES
Mrs. F. A. Kunkel, Life Long Resident

Mrs. Clara E. Kunkel, 66, wife of Frank A. Kunkel, retired farmer, 45 Seventh Avenue SE, died unexpectedly at her home Saturday night about half past 10 o’clock when she suffered a stroke and expired in a few minutes.

Mrs. Kunkel was a life long resident of Plymouth county and was a daughter of the late John Becker, wealthy landowner and member of the board of supervisors for many years.

Clara E. Becker was born January 27, 1875, and would have been 66 years old the end of this month.

She attended school and grew up on the farm in America township and helped in the household duties. She was married to Frank A. Kunkel January 30, 1894.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, F. A. Kunkel; six daughters and four sons: Mrs. Albert Mayrose, Arthur and Edward Kunkel, Mrs. Al Thill of Remsen, Felix Kunkel, Mrs. Theo. Langel, Mrs. Lawrence Nuebel of LeMars, Mrs. Nick Kneip of Remsen, Mrs. Donald Wernli of Alton and Dale Kunkel of LeMars. There are thirty-one grandchildren.

She leaves two brothers and two sisters, John E. Becker and Mrs. D. Zeig, of LeMars, Henry Becker and Mrs. John Kunkel of Farmer, S.D.

Mrs. Kunkel was a devout member of the Catholic church and a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. She was a devoted wife and mother and esteemed in a large circle of neighbors and friends.

The funeral will be held at St. Joseph church at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, January 7. Solemn requiem high mass will be celebrated by Msgr. J. D. Fisch.

Interment will be made in St. Joseph cemetery.
