Ella Johanna Glade, 93, of Akron, formerly of Ocheyedan, Iowa, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, at the Akron Corivalescent Care Center following a
brief illness.Services were held Saturday, Jan. 31 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan, with the Rev. Robert C. Trueblood officiating. Burial was in Ocheyedan Township Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Beth Rust, Rhonda Oetken, Robert and Thomas Schroder, Cristqpher, Dana, Nathan, Aaron, Cayla and Rosa Glade, Kimberly Nelson, Cara Lane and Jenna Griebel.
Mrs. Glade was bom Sept. 21, 1904, in Nashua, Minn., the daughter of Edward and Mary (Gielow) Bremen. She married Erwin O. Glade on June 22, 1929, in Nashua. The couple lived in Ocheyedan until 1982, when they moved to Akron. He died Sept. 12. 1987. She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan and was active in Trinity Lutheran church in Akron. She enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include three sons and their wives. Frederick and Carol of Hastings, Minn., and the Rev. Eugene and Pat and Joel and Carol, all of Mankato, Minn.; a daughter and her husband, Karen and Ronald Schroeder of Akron; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Gordon; a great-granddaughter, Rachael Oetken; three brothers, August, Clarence and Gilbert Bremer; and three sisters. Clara Kath, Minnie and Agnes Toelle.
