Funeral Services Held Saturday At Luken’s Funeral HomeFuneral services were held on Saturday from Luken's Funeral Home, with Rev. John Perl officiating, for Adolph Witte, resident of Merrill for 35 years, who passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital Friday, suffering from the infirmities of old age. He had been sick for the past three weeks.
Mr. Witte was born in Mackelburg, Germany, on July 25, 1856, and at the time of his death was 78 years, and eight days old. He had resided at Merrill for the past 35 years and for a good number of years was a well digger there.
Mr. Witte was a conscientious and willing worker and a man who always performed good a task on whatever he undertook.
He leaves to mourn his death, brothers and sisters and other relatives who live in the old country and whose names could not be learned.
Burial was made in the City cemetery with Luken’s in charge of funeral arrangements.
