Herman Harms Passes Away

Death Follows That Of Wife Last Week

Herman Harms, 85, retired farmer, died at his home 333 Fourth Avenue NW Tuesday after a lingering illness. His death followed that of his wife who died February 9, nine days prior.

Mr. Harms was born in Germany April 20, 1855, and was nearly 86 years old. He came to America when a youth and on coming to Le Mars farmed for many years in Washington and Johnson townships.

He was married to Alma Johanna Gerdes December 5, 1884.

He is survived by his children, Herman Harms of Brunsville, Mrs. Mary Utesch of Leeds, Mrs. Minnie Plueger of Odin, Minn., Mrs. Edith Heeren of Ruble, Mrs. Anna Helen of Agar, S. D., twenty-eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held this Friday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran church at 2 o'clock, Rev. L. L. Belk officiating, and interment made in the Johnson township cemetery.

The Mauer funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
