Mrs. Floyd Waterbury
Mrs. Floyd Waterbury, 71, Akron, died Monday (Sept. 27, 1982) in the Akron nursing home of a long illness.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, in the Wesley United Methodist church. The Rev. Peter Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Schroeder funeral home.
Pallbearers are Arnold Helseth, Larry Waterbury, Mark Waterbury, Ray Waag, Henry Fickbohm, and George Johnston. Cindy Appley, soloist, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Sweet Bye and Bye". Carla Winquist was organist.
Mrs. Waterbury, the former Genevieve May McMillan, was born Aug. 11, 1911 at Mapleton, Iowa. She married Floyd Waterbury Nov. 11, 1929, at Dakota City. They farmed in the Akron area, retiring to McCook Lake in 1971 and moving to Akron in 1979., Mr. Waterbury died in 1981. She was an active member of the Farm Bureau and worked with 4-H for many years.
Survivors include one son, Floyd, Jr., of Akron; four daughters, Mrs. Keith (Audrey) Seampnds of Grapevine, Texas, Mrs. Gerald (Joyce) Krause, Mrs. Marlin (Sandra) Osterbuhr and Mrs. Larry (Beth) Tentinger, all of Akron; three brothers, Herb and Elmer, both of Hawarden, and Merle of Chatsworth; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
