Mrs. Leslie Bowen

Mrs. Leslie Bowen, 71, LeMars, died Saturday (Dec. 16, 1978) at a Sioux City hospital after an illness of several years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in LeMars with Rev. Robert Hanthorn officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Reading township, rural Ireton. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at the Mauer funeral home, LeMars.

Mrs. Bowen, the former Nettie F. Ferguson, was born March 12, 1907, in LeMars to Michael Ferguson and the former Elizabeth Ashton. She married Leslie Bowen, April 23, 1927, at Sioux City. The couple lived in LeMars until 1930 when they moved to a Maurice farm. They retired to LeMars in 1969.

Mrs. Bowen was a member of the First Baptist Church in LeMars and an honorary member of Debra Circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, and one infant daughter. Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Marlene Wagner of Oyens and Mrs. Dawn Orban of Rapid City, S.D.; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Coppock of Tempe, Ariz., and Mrs. Celia Luken of Phoenix, Ariz; and three grandchildren.
