Alfred P. Blake, 63 of Sioux City died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997, at a Sioux City Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Larkin Northside Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Schimmer, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Hite Cemetery at Whiting, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Blake was born April 1, 1934, in Bridgeport, Conn., the son of Alfred P. and Lillian Blake. He graduated from Bridgeport High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. He came to Sioux city in the mid 1960's.
He married Loretta Schuttpelz on Feb. 19, 1966, in sioux city. He was employed as a maintenance worker with Sioux city Transit Company, retiring in 1986. He was Catholic.
Surviviors include his wife; a son and his fiancee, Shane Blake and Denise Dawdy of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Wanda and Aaron Abraham of sioux City; three grandchildren, Wayne and Angela Blake and Kristine Tweet; two brothers, George and Norman Blake, both of Stratford, Conn.; and a sister Lillian Becker of Stratford, Conn.
Pallbearers will be shane and Wayne Blake, Carl and Walter Schuttpelz, Aaron Abraham and Dennis Langley.
