James Bryant passed away in Akron Friday morning, October 23, 1914, of ailments incident to advanced age. He had been taking treatment here for a short time.
Deceased was born in England, November 21, 1827, and died at the age of nearly 87 years. He came to America when a young man and had been a resident of western Plymouth county for over thirty-two years. For a number of years he and his son, John C., have lived on a farm a mile and a quarter south of Ruble. Another son, Dr. Wm. Bryant, survives and came from Illinois to attend his father's funeral.
Mr. Bryant was widely known and highly esteemed by all.
Funeral services in the Presbyterian church at Crathorne were, conducted by Rev. Varce, of the Adaville EUB church. Nearly a thousand people attended the funeral, many being unable to get Into the church. Interment was made in the cemetery there.
