Death Monday ended the sufferings of William Peters, of Germantown vicinity, son of Mrs. Frieda Peters, of Remsen, who passed away in a Cherokee hospital after a prolonged illness. Mr. Peters was born November 22, 1901, on a farm seven miles southeast of Remsen, a son of Henry and Frieda Peters. His boyhood was spent at home and he attended the rural school. He spent one school term in the high school at Brookings, S.D. He assisted on the home farm until his marriage, June 8, 1929, to Emily Luttmann, at Norfolk, Neb. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Peters spent five years on the old Peters farm near Remsen, and two years ago moved to a farm near Germantown, where Mrs. Peters still resides. Funeral services took place at the Peters home Thursday afternoon, followed by services in Christ Lutheran church, Rev. H. Steger , of Germantown, had charge. Burial was in the Remsen cemetery. Besides the widow and mother, the following brothers and sisters survive: Mrs. Otto Kroeger and Mrs. Herman Ohlendorf, Remsen; Mrs. Henry Bay, Correctionville; Mrs. Bruit Stroup, Germantown, and George, Remsen. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, March 10, 1936, page 3.
