Rites Thursday for Marie Kappler.
Marie Louise Laura Kappler, 85, of Remsen, died Sunday, March 31, 1991 at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital, Cherokee.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at Christ Lutheran Church here. Rev. James D. Wilson officiated.
Burial was in the Remsen City Cemetery under direction of the Moeller Funeral Home.
Miss Kappler was born March 7, 1906, in rural Remsen, Plymouth County, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Seel Kappler. She attended rural Remsen school, making her home later with her parents, after which she lived with her sister and brother. She entered the Villa Nursing Home in Cherokee in September 1989.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Anna Kappler of Remsen and Mrs. Ray (Esther) Schut of Elkton, S.D.; a brother, George, of Remsen; two nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death of a brother, Louis. – Remsen Bell-Enterprise
