Mrs. Carl (Marie) Schuttpelz, 73, 1323 Virginia St., died Tuesday in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Larkin Northside Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold V. Cooper pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Mrs. Schuttpelz, the former Marie F. Belz, was born Aug. 3, 1908, in Sioux City.

She married Carl Schuttpelz Oct. 29, 1930, in Dakota City. They farmed in Plymouth County for a number of years before returning to Sioux City in 1956. He died May 18, 1976, in Sioux City.

Mrs. Schuttpelz was a Catholic.

Survivors include two sons, Carl H. of Sioux City and Walter R. of Hinton, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Mary Ellen) Langley of Sioux City and Mrs. Alfred (Loretta) Blake of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, John W. of Sioux City; three sisters, Mrs. Ed (Ethel) Hammer of Marcus, Iowa, Mrs. George (Lucile) Schuttpelz and Miss Lola, both of Sioux City; a nephew whom she raised, Delbert L. Hammer of Sioux City; 22 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

CORRECTION

In the obituary for Mrs. Carl Schuttpelz, 73, 1323 Virginia St., that was published in the Journal Thursday, the addresses for two of her sisters were transposed inadvertently.

Mrs. Ed (Ethel) Hammer is of Sioux City and Mrs. George (Lucile) Schuttpelz is of Marcus, Iowa.

The obituary also included among the survivors a nephew, Delbert L. Hammer of Sioux City who was reported to have been raised by Mrs. Schuttpelz. It should have stated he lived with Mrs. Schuttpelz for several years.
