Funeral services for Steven L. Weinreich, 18, Remsen, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Remsen-Union Community High School Auditorium
Rev. Donald Slaven, pastor of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Neptune, will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen Community Cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen where there will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Weinreich died Monday (Oct. 3, 1983) at Marian Health Center, Sioux City, of injuries suffered Saturday when his motorcycle collided with a Marcus school bus on the east edge of Le Mars.
He was born Oct. 23, 1964, in Sioux City to Val and Bonna Jeanne Wieck Weinreich. He was reared and educated at Remsen and graduated last spring from Remsen-Union High School. He was attending Lincoln Technical College in Des Moines for diesel mechanics.
Survivors are his parents and brother Patrick, all of Remsen, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wieck, Remsen, and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Weinreich, Correctionville. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Oct. 5, 1983, page 4.
