Life’s End. CHARLES SIEFE DIES OF INJURIES SUFFERED IN FALL FROM HIS CAR – AT REMSEN FARM.
Charles Siefke, 67, of Remsen died Friday at a Sioux City hospital 10 days after an accident. He received paralyzing neck and spinal injuries July 22 when he fell from his car, while looking at his herd of cattle.
Mr. Siefke was born on a farm three miles north of Remsen, May 26, 1896.
Survivors include two brothers, Joseph of Monrovia, Cal., and Albert of Remsen, two sisters, Mrs. Henry Ducommun of Cleghorn, and Mrs. Marion Dorr of Remsen.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday at S. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church in Remsen, with Rev. Paul Wuebben officiating.
Burial under direction of the Moeller funeral home was in the Remsen cemetery. The American Legion held military rites at the grave. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Aug. 5, 1963, page 5.
