Life’s End. JOHN PETERSON JR. KILLED IN CAR CRASH IN CALIFORNIA.
John C. Peterson Jr., 53 Daggett, Calif., former Sioux City resident, was killed Thursday evening, April 4, in an automobile accident in California.
Funeral series will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Morningside Presbyterian church, Sioux City, with Rev. Myron Brower officiating. W. Harry Christy funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the Remsen cemetery.
Mr. Peterson was born March 10, 1915, at Le Mars. He attended Whittier elementary school in Sioux City and was graduated from East high school. He moved to California 20 years ago.
Mr. Peterson married Madeline Preston, also formerly of Sioux City, in Seattle, Wash., Mary 27, 1954. He was a government employee and worked in a Marine Corps personnel office.
Survivors are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Linn Stinnett and Amy Peterson, both of Tempe, Ariz.; his mother, Mrs. John C. Peterson Sr. of Sioux City; three brothers, James of Remsen, Farley of Le Mars and Dr. Norman C. of Santa Monica, Calif.; and two grandchildren. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, April 8, 1968, page 3.
