Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Milfs, 91, former long time resident of Remsen, who died Tuesday at the home of a daughter in Waterloo, were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Moeller funeral home in Remsen, Rev. Paul Wuebben, pastor of St. Paul Evangelical church, officiated and burial was in the community cemetery.
Mrs. Milfs was born in Germany in 1870. She was married there to Fred Milfs and they came to this country and to Remsen. Mr. Milfs died in 1904. Mrs. Milfs resided here until going to Waterloo two years ago to live with her daughter.
Survivors include two daughters Mrs. Ray Gilette of Waterloo and Mrs. John Bentz of Remsen; four sons, Milf of Van Nuys, California; Edward of Brookings, South Dakota; Otto of Neola, Iowa and Alvin, residing in California; 12 grand children and two sisters living in Germany. – Le Mars Globe Post, Aug. 17, 1961, page 3.
