Mrs. Harry Kahl, 94, Remsen, died Saturday (Oct. 13, 1973) at Floyd Valley hospital. She had been in ailing health the last year.
Funeral services were Monday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church, Remsen, with Rev. Thomas Renquist officiating.
Burial was in the Remsen cemetery under direction of the Moeller funeral home.
The former Margaret Grage, she was born Dec. 2, 1877, at Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She came to the United States at age 2 with her parents, settling first in Benton county and later in Plymouth county.
She was married Feb. 22, 1900. The couple then moved to their farm home south of Remsen where she lived for 73 years. Mr. Kahl preceded her in death.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Fritz Behrens, Remsen, and Hulda, at home; two sons, Henry and Bud, both of Remsen, a sister, Mrs. August Hansen of Remsen, seven grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Mrs. Frank Harvey, two sons, William and Edward and a brother. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Oct 15, 1973, page 5.
