Elisabeth J. Gale

Elizabeth Jean "Betty" Gale, 67, of Vermillion died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1996, at Dakota Hospital in Vermillion.

Services were held Aug. 17, 1996, at St. Agnes Catholic Church In Vermillion with the Rev. Leonard Fox officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City.

Mrs. Gale was born Sept. 1, 1928, in Elk Point, the daughter of Edease and Ella Benjamin- She grew up and attended school in Elk Point, graduating from Elk Point High School in 1946. She graduated from St. Joseph Mercy College of Nursing In Sioux City in 1949. May 8, 1950, she married Jack G. Gale In Elk Point. The couple moved to Vermillion in 1963, where they fanned for many years. She was a registered nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital for 14 years. She retired from nursing in 1979 in Yankton.

Survivors Include four sons, Michael of Sioux City, Patrick and his wife, Jan of Elk Point, Kelly and his wife, Loretta of Prairie City. S.D., and Kevin and his wife, Renae of Irene, S.D.; a sister, Shirley DeBuhr of
Valley City., N.D.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Robert Benjamin.
