Note: Some family members spell the last name Husman and others Husmann within the same family. For those doing family reasearch I have put both spellings in the surname box. I have put the spelling put on the gravestone in the deceased name box. Also his motehr's maiden name was Ressen.
JOHN HUSMAN SR. RITES SET THURSDAY AT CHEROKEE CHURCH
John W. Husman Sr., 60, died at 9 p.m. Monday at a Cherokee hospital after a long illness.
He had farmed in Cherokee county since 1943, with a Quimby. address. He was a former Hinton resident.
Mr. Husman was born July 3, 1907, at Beresford, S. D. His marriage to Claribel Pearson took place Aug. 30, 1930, in Sioux City. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church in Cherokee.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran church, Cherokee, with Pastor Oscar Marquardt officiating. Burial will be in Oakhill cemetery at Cherokee. The Boothby funeral home at Cherokee is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife, Claribel of Quimby; four sons, Wilfred of Marcus, Calvin and Ronald of Quimby and John of Alta; two daughters, Mrs. John W. Schmidt, Cherokee, and Rosemary Husman, Quimby. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Fred K. Husman, Le Mars; four brothers, Fred, Akron; Henry, Westbrouk, Minn., Albert, Merrill, and Alfred of Westfield, and four sisters, Kathleen Husman of Le Mars, Mrs. Louis Baack of Hinton, Mrs. Clarence Carstensen, Merrill, and Mrs. Frank Madden, Kingsley.
He was preceded in death by his father.
