John C. Mammen

John C. Mammen, 74, of LeMars, died Wednesday (March 28, 1984) at his home after long illness.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Christ Lutheran Church. Rev. Jack Hebard officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

There was a prayer service at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mr. Mammen was born March 1, 1910, in Grant township, Plymouth County, to John C. and Tena Kruse Mammen. He married Lena Ludwigs Nov. 12, 1936 in Grant township. He was a lifelong Plymouth County resident and farmed until he retired in 1968. Mrs. Mammen died Sept. 9, 1972.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Survivors are two sons, Maynard of Hinton and Howard of Aurora, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Janice) Burleigh of Lancaster, Calif., and Mrs. Norm (LeJoyce) Jerde of Fullerton, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. H. H. (Clara) Ludwigs of LeMars and Mrs. Elmer (Hannah) Tucker of Sioux City and seven grandchildren.
