Former Plymouth countyan dead after struck by car.

Elmer J. Tucker, 76, 508 Sioux St., Sioux City, who was struck by a car at W. Third and Bluff Sts., Sioux City, died Tuesday morning at a Sioux City Hospital.

Mr. Tucker apparently died of complications from his injuries, according to Dr. Thomas L. Coriden, Woodbury county medical examiner. Cause of death will be determined after an investigation is completed, the medical examiner said.

Mr. Tucker suffered possible pelvic injuries and multiple abrasions when he was struck by a car driven by Thomas Leo Ryan, 59, 1109 11th St., Sioux City, police said.

Mr. Tucker was born Aug. 23, 1895, in Plymouth county. He married Hanna M. Mammen Jan 21, 1925, near LeMars. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1944.

He was employed by Cudahay Packing Co. for several years and later he was employed by Sioux City Bottling Co. From 1951 until his retirement in 1960 Mr. Tucker was employed by Sam Gordon Waste Paper Co.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Merlin of Sioux City and Eldon of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; three daughters; Mrs. Elnora Jenkins, Mrs. Charles (Mersilla) Estochen Sr., and Mrs. Darrell (Margaret) Neely, all of Sioux City; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Manning-O'Toole funeral home.

Rev. Willard Galloway, pastor of Westlawn Presbyterian church, will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Forrest Tucker, Robert Boyle, Ricky Keegan, Maurice Tucker, Ronald Jenkins and Dennis Herbst.
