Stanley J. Lilly

Stanley J. Lilly, 64, Westfield, Iowa, died of cancer Wednesday, November 18, 1998, at his residence.

Memorial services were held Friday, November 20,1998 at Westfield Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Jay Baldwin officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron, was in charge of arrangements. Pianist was Sheryl Banks with Shirley Banks as soloist.

Mr. Lilly was born September 16, 1934, in Westfield, the son of Wallace and Nella (Goede) Lilly. He; graduated from Westfield High School in 1954. He enrolled at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, where he was a member of the Theta Xi Fraternity and Army ROTC.

Following his graduation-in 1958; he was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He served one year at White Sands Proving Grounds in New Mexico and two years in Germany. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 25 years, retiring as a lieutenant Colonel.

He married Gayle Schonher on January 3, 1962, in Worthington, Minn. Mr Lilly was; employed with Terra Industries since 1970.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Scott of Westfield and Larry, of Le Mars, IA, his mother of Westfield; three brothers and their wives, Boss and Mary pf.Jefferson, SD, Doug and Nancy and Gilbert and Peggy, all of Westfield; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
