Emmet B. Welch

Emmet B. Welch, 92, of Akron died Monday, May 3, 1993, at the Akron Care Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 1993 at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Akron with Monsignor Gerald Lyon officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery, Akron, under the direction of Schroeder Funeral home in Akron. Pallbearers are James Welch, Bernard Welch, Vincent Welch, William Claasen, David Lilly and Lou Conway.

Mr. Welch was born Aug. 25, 1900, in Westfield, son of William and Elizabeth (Foley) Welch. He grew up in the Westfield area and farmed south of Westfield for many years. He was an Archer Oil dealer in the 1960s. He retired in 1969 and moved to Akron in the early 1970s.

Survivors include 16 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Bill, Ray, Robert, Frank, Joe and Jessie; and a sister, Ella Claassen.
