Mrs. C. Mammen Dies, Rites Tuesday in Grant Township

Mrs. Anna Catharina Mammen, 69, a life long resident of Plymouth county, died Saturday Dec. 13 at the Lutheran hospital in Sioux City after an illness of four weeks.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 2 o'clock at the Christ Lutheran church in Grant township. The Rev. Richard Fruehling will conduct the services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Anna Catharina Borchers Mammen was born Feb. 27, 1883 in Preston township. She was married to Charles H. Mammen, March 4, 1904 in Preston township.

The couple lived in Grant township until 1942 when they retired and moved to LeMars. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran church and the Dorcas society of that church.

Surviving besides the husband are two sons, Elmer and Carl Mammen and two daughters, Mrs. Alice Kruse and Mrs. Minnie Doering all of LeMars. Also eight grandchildren and three brothers, Ben Borchers, Ireton, William Borchers, LeMars, and John Borchers, Akron.

Mauer's funeral home in is charge of arrangements.
