Marie Plueger, 84, of Grant township, rural LeMars died Tuesday, April 8, 1997, at the Akron Care Center in Akron, Plymouth, Iowa
Services will be at 2 pm, Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church in Grant Township with the Rev Harrison Kline officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 pm to with a prayer service at 7pm at Maurer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mrs. Plueger was born August 25, 1912, in Johnson Township, the daughter of Gustave and Christina (Mangelson) Beeck. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was raised in Johnson and Preston Townships and attended county schools
She married Richard Plueger on August 26, 1933, in Preston Township. The couple farmed in Grant Township form 1933 to 1975 when the retired. He died December 16, 1986. She had been a resident at the Akron Care Center for four years.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards and and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include a son and his wife Duane and Janice of LeMars, four grandchildren, Brenda Becker, and Michael, Russell and Scott Plueger; six great-grandchilodren and a brother Alfred Beeck of LeMars.
She was preceded in death by a son, Marlin, a brother; Henry and five sisters, Martha Ludwigs, Anna Erks, Clara Molzen, Freida Beitelspacher and Margaret in infancy
Pallbearers will be Ervin and Wilbur Renken, Cliff Peters, LeRoy Borchers, Ralph Kruse and Barry Ludwigs
