Mrs. Albert Doering Passed Away Saturday
Mrs. Albert Doering, 314 2nd Ave. N. W., a resident of this county for the last 58 years, passed away at her home at six o'clock Saturday afternoon, following a sickness of ten weeks. Mrs. Doering had reached the advanced age of 83 years, 5 months and 26 days.
Almte Margaret Von Hagel was born on February 16, 1857, in Ostfriesland, Germany, and came to this county as a young girl. In 1882, she was united in marriage to Albert Doering and they took up farming in Grant township, where they lived for many years before coming to LeMars 26 years ago.
Six children were born to this union. One son died in infancy and one daughter, Mary, (Mrs. Henry Buehre,) died 21 years ago. The surviving children are: Mrs. Fred Onken, Grant township; Mrs. Henry Frahm, LeMars; John Doering, Louisville, Ky; and Mrs. Harry Landgraf, of Struble. There are also 22 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the residence and at two o'clock from St. John's Lutheran church with Rev. L. L. Belk officiating. Interment will be in the Grant township cemetery under the direction of Mauer's funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Peter Von Hagel, Ben Von Hagel, John Von Hagel, Albert Von Hagel, Gert Von Hagel, and John Von Hagel.
Mrs. Doering was one of the early residents of this community and was widely known in a large circle of neighbors and friends who will regret to learn of her passing.
