MRS. R WINTER DIES SUDDENLY
Well Known Le Mars Woman Succumbs To Heart Attack
Mrs. Richard Winter, well known resident of Le Mars, died suddenly Thursday morning at her home following a heart attack. She was 64 years, 1 month and 16 days of age.
Caroline Lydia Schmidt, the daughter of Phillip P. Schmidt and Lena Brandstetter Schmidt, was born December 11, 1873, on a farm near Merrill. On February 4, 1892, she was united in marriage to Richard Winter. After their marriage they lived in Mills county, Iowa, and later moved on a farm in Plymouth township where they lived until 1918. They have made their home in Le Mars for the past 20 years.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Winter, and three children, Mrs. B. A. Bogenrief, Merrill; Leonard Winter, Remsen, and Mrs. Elmer Lentz, Stanton township. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: John Schmidt, Los Angeles, Cal.; L. R. Schmidt, Phoenix, Arizona; A. P. Schmidt, Nampa, Idaho, and a half-brother. Will Hauser, Glendale, Arizona; Mrs. H. J. Blecker, Toronto, S. D.; Mrs. Dora Denker, Pasadena, Calif. She is also survived by the following grandchildren: Mrs. Richard Laughton, Le Mars; James and Donald Bogenrief, Merrill; Mae Dean Winter, Remsen, Janet Lentz, Stanton township.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Hildreth Evangelical church with Rev. G. O. Thompson officiating. Manor's will be in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Winter was a member of the Hildreth Evangelical church and served as a communion steward for several years. She was also active in various church organizations and activities.
