William G. Albright
William G. Albright, 70, Sioux City, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 1990, at the Akron Clinic, of an apparent heart attack while helping at his son's farm in South Dakota.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Catholic church in Sioux City with Monsignor Frank Brady officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery in Sioux City, under direction of Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.
Mr. Albright was born Feb. 17, 1920, in Brunsville, Iowa, to George and Anna (Marienau) Albright. He attended country school in Plymouth county. He served in the U.S. army during World War II and made his home in Sioux City after his discharge in 1945. Following World War II, he was employed as an announcer at KSCJ and along with his brother, Art, founded the Timberoojans Country and Western band, which aired on KSCJ for many years. He continued playing as an instrumentalist, mainly as a fiddler, with several dance bands. He was currently still active in that capacity. Mr. Albright was a grocery store manager for 15 years with the Council Oak grocery stores, later known as National Tea, retiring in the late 1960s.
He married Martha Siekaniec Jan. 8, 1949. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic church.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, James of rural Akron, Steven, Tony and Peter, all of Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Carol' (Carmelita) Stoltze of Sioux City; two brothers, Arthur of Hinton and Marlin of Brunsville; two sisters, Mrs. Ivyl (Phyllis) Small of Akron, and Mrs. Clifford (Marilyn) Wheeldon of Aberdeen, S.D.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
