Orval J. Port Sr.
Orval J. Port Sr., 71, Westfield, former area constable, died Wednesday morning (Nov. 16, 1977) at the Akron hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Port was born June 21, 1906, at Akron. He married Isabell H. Loetz, July 28,1928, at Sioux City. The couple lived in Sioux City from 1928 to 1945. They then moved to Boulevard Station and Hancock township vicinity for about 30 years. He had been a constable in the Hancock township and Westfield areas for 12 years, retiring about two years ago.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Orval J. Jr., of Sioux City, Theodore B. of Westfield and Kenneth A. of Manchester, N.H.; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Kathaleen) Siebenborn of Bellvue, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Olive Byars of Grafton, N.D. and Mrs. June Waddington of Davenport; 13 grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Meyer Bros. Colonial chapel. Rev. Msgr. L. J. Hoffman of the Cathedral of Epiphany officiated. Burial was in Calvary cemetery, Sioux City.
