Paul and Alta Korthals

Relatives in Akron received the sad news of the deaths of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Korthals of San Diego, Calif.

Paul Korthals, 90, of San Diego, formerly of Sioux Falls, S.D., died Aug. 24,1982, in Mercy hospital, San Diego, of a brief illness.

Services were held in Greenwood Mausoleum, Aug. 27, at 10:30 a.m. Officiant was Msgr. Patrick O'Doud. Entombment was in the Greenwood Mausoleum.

Mr. Korthals was born Feb. 2,1892 in Marion, S.D. He was a World War I veteran. After he returned home from the service, he was employed at the S.D. state penitentiary farm, where he was buyer and herdsman for the farm. He married Alta (Morehead) Lunde, Oct. 31,1944. They lived in Sioux Falls until he retired and they moved to San Diego, Calif.

Survivors include his wife, Alta; nieces and nephews.
