Lena Heeren

Lena Heeren Nee Croon passed away at her home on Thursday morning February 5, 1959 at the age of 64 years 5 months and 10 days after a lingering illness which resulted in the loss of her eye sight and other complications the past two years.

She was born on August 26th, 1894, Sioux County, Ireton, Iowa, the daughter of the late Henry and Tena Croon nee Husman. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian Faith of Christ Lutheran Church Grant Twp. On December 12, 1912 she was united in marriage to Albert Heeren at the home of her parents in Grant Twp. Her entire life was spent in this community. She was faithful in the work of Christ Lutheran Church and an active member of the Dorcas Society as long as her health permitted.

Surviving to mourn her loss are her beloved husband Albert, three daughters; Mrs. Fred Munzke (Elnora) Salem, S. Dak., Mrs. Albert Boysen (Edna) Struble, Iowa, Mrs. Clarence Plueger (Lucille) Le Mars, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, 3 brothers. Henry of Banks, Oregon, Martin, Le Mars and Onnie of Dell Rapids S. Oak, sister Hilka, St. Paul, Minn..

She was preceded in death by her parents 2 brothers 4 sisters and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 8th, I:30 p.m. from the home and Christ Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. B. Nagel officiating. Interment will be made in Grant Township cemetery with Manor Funeral home in charge.
