Mrs. Fred Ahrendt, 78 Dies, Plan Services Friday in Grant Twp.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Ahrendt, 78-year old farmwife, who had lived on the same farm in Grant township for 58 years, will be held Friday.

Mrs. Ahrendt, who passed away Tuesday at the Sacred Heart hospital, will be buried in the Christ Lutheran church cemetery in Grant township, following services conducted by the Rev. Richard Fruehling in the church beginning at 2 p. m.

The former Gesche Cramer, she was born Nov. 24, 1872 at Osfriezland, Germany. She came to the United States at the age of nine, coming directly to Plymouth county with her parents, Behrend and Wobke Lambertus Cramer. On March 21, 1893 she married Friedrick Ahrendt in Grant township, and they moved to the farm where she was to spend the rest of her life. In 1941 she moved to a smaller home on the same place where she lived until going to the hospital May 11.

She is survived by four daughters and four sons: Mrs. Amanda Renken of Ireton and Miss Emma Ahrendt, Mrs. Marie Renken and Mrs. Fred Otto, all of LeMars; and the Rev. F. J. Ahrendt of Ritzville, Wash.; and Henry, Carl and Bennie Ahrendt of LeMars.

She also leaves 23 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a brother, Henry Cramer of Craig. One of her grandsons, now in the armed services, was able to return to attend the service. Her husband, Fred Ahrendt preceded her in death.

Funeral arrangements are being cared for by Mauer's funeral home.
