Mrs. Elizabeth Catherine Ahrendt, 83, a virtual lifelong resident of Plymouth county, died Sunday at Sacred Heart after an illness of several years. She had been hospitalized 10 months.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John American Lutheran churchy LeMars. Rev. L . L. Belk and Rev. Robert Floy will officiate. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran church cemetery. Grant township, under the direction of Mauer's funeral home.
Elizabeth C. Westhoff was born March 11, 1877, in Plymouth county, the daughter of Jans and Marie Ricklefs Westhoff. Her marriage to Carl J. Ahrendt took place April 17, 1894, in Grant township. She spent her entire lifetime in Plymouth county, with the exception of two years in California.
A member of St. John Lutheran church here, she had held membership in the church's Ladies Aid.
Surviving are six children, Mrs. John (Mary) Blnneboese, Mrs. Harm (Louise) Kruse, and Carl W. Ahrendt, all of Le Mars, Mrs. Frank (Sophie) Zieger Of Miller, S.D., Mrs. Jack (Ida) Petersen, of Merrill and Mrs. John (Bertha) Waldum of Sioux City; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
