Deborah J. Palmer, 50, of Lakemoor, IL, formerly of Le Mars, died unexpectedly Sunday, September 4, 2011 at her home in Lakemoor from an apparent heart attack.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Carlsen-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars, with Reverend Matt Hewitt of St. James Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Struble. Visitations will be anytime after 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Carlsen-Feuerstein Funeral Home, where there will be a Parish rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday morning at the funeral home. Deborah Jeanne Palmer was born September 29, 1960 in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Donald A. and Janice Rose (Hill) Palmer. She grew up in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1979. Deborah had been employed over the years with various transportation companies, most recently as the safety director with Blackjack Express Trucking Companies in Mundelein, IL. She was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching and going to the races. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and making regular calls to her dad.

Survivors include four daughters: Krista Stroud and her husband Josh of Des Moines, Jamie Clair and her husband Steve of Des Moines, Kari Kellen of Des Moines, and Jenna Kellen of Le Mars.; four grandchildren: Caleb Stroud, Taylor Stroud, Jonathan Daman, and Alexis Bernardino; her father Don Palmer, Sr. of Le Mars; three brothers: Don Palmer, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Le Mars, David Palmer and his wife Marilyn of Le Mars and Dean Palmer and his wife Gail of Beresford, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Palmer; two children: Eric Allan Kellen and Jennifer Rose Kellen; twin sisters: Teri and Geri Palmer; a brother, Dale Palmer and her maternal and paternal grandparents.©
