OBITUARY OF A. D. LILLY
A. D. Lilly, one of our most highly respected citizens, passed away Monday morning, April 26, 1926, in his home south of town, after an illness extending over a period of several months.
A. D. Lilly was born in Dupuque county, Iowa, January 13, 1870, being 56 years old at the time of his death.
At an early age he moved with his parents to the farm near Le Mars, where they resided for several years, then coming to his present home south of town. Mr. Lilly received practically all his education in the county schools, later following the teaching profession for a few years.
He was married in 1895 to Miss May Robinson. To this union four children were born—Vernon, the oldest son, now in the navy, stationed in the Philippines Islands; Clark at home, and Angie and Margery, living in California. His wife died in 1900. In 1911 he was united in marriage with Miss Edna G. Murray. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, his aged mother, four children, and three brothers besides a host of friends.
Mr. Lilly was a man of the highest type of character, a devoted husband and father a fine neighbor and ever willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be sorely missed by his relatives and neighbors.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, the services being conducted in the home with Rev.
