Berlien Ida Pahl, 82, of Brunsville died Sunday. July 30, 1995. at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Services were held Wednesday, August 2 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Brunsville with Pastor Stephany Sanborn officiating. Music was "In The Garden", "Old Rugged Cross," sung by Ray Lubben and Lorraine Renken accompanied by Ruth Alexander. "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," was sung by the congregation. Pallbearers were Ron Hanstein, Larry Oltmanns. Marlyn Renken, Jerry Schornrock, Willard Utech and Roger Utesch. Honorary Pallbearers were Gene Dickman, Harold Harms. Harold Jelken. Ray Lubben and Jack McHale. Burial was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Craig. Mauer- Johnson Funeral Home. Le Mars in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pahl, the former Berlien Ida Clark, was born April 27. 1913, on the family farm east of Akron and attended country school east of Westfield. She married Elmer W. Oltmanns June 11, 1936, in Akron. She worked as a sales representative for Avon for several years. She also assisted her husband with managing the American Legion In Brunsville for a number of years. He died Aug. 19. 1967.

She worked for Gene's Processing for several years. On Aug. 26, 1972, she married Arthur S. Pahl at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Brunsville. In later years she was still active as an Avon representative. Mrs. Pahl was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where she had served as treasurer for several years.

Survivors include her husband: a son and his wife, Darrell and Gwen Oltmanns of Elkhom. Neb.; a stepdaughter Jeannette Coty of Sioux City; a sister. Opal Schmidt of Akron; a brother and his wife, Arnold and Shirley Clark of Spencer; a sister-in-law. Lois Clark of Akron; three grandchildren. Michelle Squler, Dean and Dwayne Oltmanns; three step-grandchildren, Nicholas, Amy and Melissa Coty; a step-great-granddaughter, Ashley Coty; two special girls who adopted Berlien as a grandmother, Debra Ahlers and Denise Anthony; five special great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Jill and Kristen Ahlers, Brenden and Tanner Anthony.

She was preceded In death by her parents, her husband Elmer, and a brother Lloyd Clark.
