Dr. Clifton H. Waterbury, the son of John Franklin and Adna Massey was born in Union County, South Dakota, April 25, 1898, and passed away June 23, 1973, at the Stewart Memorial Hospital at Lake City where He had been confined just recently. He attained the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 28 days.

He received his formal education at Akron and in the year 1924 was graduated from the Palmer School of Chriopractic. He practiced in several Iowa communities and also Rellingham, Washington for many years, then coming to Lohrville in the year 1957. On August 21, 1918, he was united in marriage to Ruth Swanson. To this union was born one son, Clayton, and a daughter, Joyce. On June 8, 1956, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Seymour at Sioux City, Iowa.

Those left at mourn his passing are his wife Eleanor, one daughter (Joyce) Mrs. Lewis Geri of Bellingham, Washington, one son Clayton Waterbury of Corning, Iowa, thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Raymond.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 25, 1973, at 10:30 a.m. from the Brown Funeral Home in Lohrville, Iowa, with the Rev. Holman Cowherd officiating, with interment in the Akron Cemetery at Akron, Iowa. Serving as casket bearers were Les Pearson, Jay Middleton, Martin Knapp, Dick Heath, Mel Huseman and Clarence McCaulley. Musical selections were rendered by Mrs. Merlyn Irwin.

Local area relatives are Earl Ross of Akron and Guy Ross of Westfield.
