Funeral services for Mrs. Lawrence Gale, age 84, were held Wednesday morning, August 30 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Rev. Stanley Stone officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home. A rosary was held at 8 p.m., August 29 at the funeral home.

Born December 29, 1887 in Plymouth County, she was the former Catherine McManaman. On October 5,1910, she was married to Lawrence Gale at Hawarden. He died in 1971. Mrs. Gale taught school in Plymouth County, and they farmed in the Akron area until moving to Akron. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Joseph's Society.

Survivors are sons Orville, Francis and Matthew, all of Akron; daughters, Miss Agnes Gale, Mrs. Richard Burke, both of Sioux City; Mrs. Le Roy Pick of Sergeant Bluff, Mrs. Phillip Di Mascio of El Monte, Calif., Mrs. David Gibeau of Reno, Nev., a brother, Jack of Hawarden; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
